Random Thought #5 ~ Power and Wealth

I’ve been thinking, aren’t the accumulation of power and wealth reeeeeeallly what everyone fights over? At the root of most arguments or conflicts, both large and small scale, I find that one or both of those two is what people are really fighting about. At the very least, the people in power or in leadership are in it for power and wealth even if their minions aren’t.  I find that it’s often the people with influence that are manipulating fears and beliefs of good people to gain more power and more resources for themselves.

Do you disagree?

In fact, I dare anyone reading this to come up with a conflict in history which I can’t lead back to someone selfishly increasing their power or wealth. Even conflicts that seem to be about something else altogether are just thinly veiled disguises for power or resource grabs.

Why are we like this?

😦 Makes me sad.

Random Thought #4 ~ Has someone invented this yet?

Well, this is actually a thought I had ages ago. If someone knows where to buy one of these please let me know!!

A burglar alarm that notifies you by your phone when it goes off. And you can check live footage on your phone so you know whether it’s just a false positive or not.

Something like an app linked to the alarm that would tell you your house is safe, even when you’re on holiday and let you check on footage.

If you’ve heard of something like this, comment. If not, invent it please!!

Random Thought #3 The Future ~Knowledge

Ok, another weird one. Say it’s one thousand years into the future – the year 3016. Long ago, a mass book burning happened and nuclear war or something and all technology was destroyed completely and without a trace. Earth was brought back to the Dark Ages but people still remember how to write. There were very few survivors but there were still some, at least. They banded together and decided to restart society. Say these people from a millennia before 3016 had the bright idea to preserve the world’s knowledge of history, of what came before.

However, none of these people were skilled or had any expert knowledge. So they wrote what they knew but it was limited. In fact, they outright made up some historical information to how they thought it should have turned out. Actually, they totally made up some crap just for laughs. These weren’t really the most sincere people of society. They also passed on these falsehoods to their children and future generations.

In 3016, society seems back to normal. Someone happened to come across several old preserved ‘history’ books written by the survivors from 2016. It contained false information about all our known historical figures and events. E.g. saying Abraham Lincoln invented slavery….

Assume that these future people are descended from the original survivors.

Given  that the survivors passed on their false knowledge to the kids, does this mean that, with such evidence for the ‘truth’ (generational teaching and uncovered writings from the period) and lack of evidence of the actual truth, the false becomes true? Will all of this society now believe in a false history?

It’s weird to think about!

Question: Are the lies told by the survivors now history?

Comment if you read and have an answer or opinion!!

Random Thought #2 Procrastination

Right now, I have an exam final tomorrow sooooo I’m obviously procrastinating by writing these posts, but hey, at least I’m not doing something even less productive…like watch anime (*feels urge to watch anime*)

But, while procrastinating hard on YouTube, I found a really funny TedTalk on……procrastination. Ironyyyy.

But any hardcore procrastinators like me will find that video funny. Seriously, go watch it. NOW. Drop your work and go on the video! The monkey DEMANDS it!

(you will understand that after you watch the video)

Random Thought #1 Jinn in Islam – 4th dimension (assume existence)

As I said, these are random thoughts and they’re pretty much as they come to my head so here it is:

In the Qur’an in Islam, there are said to be Jinn. Beings of fire (as opposed to earth, like humans) that existed long before humans were around.

Now, before I say my thought on them, there are things you need to know on the definition of Jinn in Islam – for the purpose of this, assume them to be true:

  • They are not visible to the human eye.
  • They can see us but we cannot see them.
  • They have their own societies and are, socially, similar to us in that they form their own communities and have religions and all that.
  • Like humans, there are good and bad Jinns
  • They can interact with humans if they want to and appear on our world in various forms – e.g. a cat, a snake, another human.
  • They can manipulate space  (e.g. one story is where a Jinn reported he could fetch the Prophet Solomon the Queen of Yemen’s throne in an instant.)

Taking the above as true, is it reasonable to say that Jinn are fourth dimensional beings?

Having read (haha nope) watched Flatland, it seems to be the case that these Jinn would be fourth dimensional creatures. Now, I’m just wondering if the same could be said for ghosts? If one also assumes these paranormal things to be true also, could it be said that an apparition such as spirits are, in fact, inhabiting the same space but in four dimensions?

Similarly to how I can see the inside of a 2D house that inhabits the same space with me, these creatures on the fourth dimension would be able to see me (and all my insides *yuck*).
